EVANESCENCE's "The Open Door" has sold 447,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to land at the top of next week's The Billboard 200 chart.

EVANESCENCE recorded "The Open Door" while dealing with its guitarist having a stroke, a legal battle with its former manager, and singer Amy Lee's public break-up with SEETHER's Shaun Morgan. Then just as the project was completed, bassist Will Boyd decided it was time for him to exit.

The group recently recruited THE REVOLUTION SMILE bassist Tim McCord to replace Boyd.
