Over the next several days, music writer Joel Gausten will run a series of excerpts from an extensive history of the MISFITS on his Myspace page, www.myspace.com/gaustenbooks. Gausten will include the full MISFITS chapter as part of his upcoming book, titled "Albums that (Should've) Changed the World". The MISFITS book entry will give special attention to the band's groundbreaking 1982 album "Walk Among Us".

"My history with the MISFITS runs pretty deep, and I knew I would never write a book like this without including them," says Gausten, currently a member of THE UNDEAD with former MISFITS guitarist Bobby Steele. "After all, I got my start in the music business as their promoter and fill-in drummer way back in 1995."

The book also features exclusive interviews with past/present members of KISS, BLACK SABBATH, DANZIG, SAMHAIN, PRONG, AEROSMITH, KILLING JOKE, PLASMATICS, RAMONES and many others.

Joel Gausten is the former managing editor of Liner Notes magazine. A longtime musician, he has worked with a number of artists, including PIGFACE and ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN. "Albums that (Should’ve) Changed the World" is slated for an August 2007 release.
