Right at the very end of 2015 were announced the first bands to take part in the traditional metal fest BRUTAL ASSAULT to be held between August 10 and 13 in the fortress next to the Czech city of Jaromer.

Among them are industrial metal renegades MINISTRY (lead by the one and only Al Jourgensen), british doom monarchs ELECTRIC WIZARD, thrash heroes EXODUS and WHIPLASH as well as hardcore pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT. Other notable inclusions are black metal purists ARCHGOAT and VALKYRJA, our Greek friends SEPTICFLESH and the legendary TERROR.

Following months will see the announcement of some other 80 bands to take part in the festival.

This would be BRUTAL ASSAULT's 21st edition. The festival that began as a small, local metal event featuring mainly Slovak and Czech acts has now earned the reputation of one of the biggest open air festivals in Europe. In accordance with the growing number of fans taking part in the festival, it has changed location several times but has in the last few years finally settled at the Josefov fortress near the small town of Jaroměř.

One of  BRUTAL ASSAULT's main advantages before events like the French HELLFEST, for example, is the festivals accessibility. It is situated at the very heart of the continent (near to both Poland and Germany), and this year the four-day tickets cost mere 72 euro (and 84 euro at the festival site, if tickets are still available), the festival grounds are well equipped for thousands of tents (there is a VIP camp you can settle in as well) and the beer on draught usually costs around 1 euro.
