When AC/DC announced they would be moving forward with Axl Rose standing in as Brian Johnson‘s replacement, it caused a rift between fans and fellow musicians.

As the band is set to embark on a European run starting this Saturday (May 7), it has been revealed that a significant number of fans requested a refund for the May 16 gig in Werchter, Belgium.

Live Nation offered fans the opportunity to request a refund until last night (May 2) if they did not wish to see the Rose-fronted version of the rock titans. As De Standaard reports, 7,000 tickets were returned and then divvied up with 1,000 going to fans on the waiting list and another 6,000 remaining on sale to the public.

Before requesting their refund, fans had the opportunity to hear what it would sound like with Rose belting out AC/DC classics. At Guns N’ Roses‘ first Coachella performance, guitarist and founder Angus Young joined the band onstage to play “Riff Raff” and “Whole Lotta Rosie.” Additionally, apparent audio of the GN’R frontman rehearsing with AC/DC has surfaced online. The videos capture performances of “Back in Black,” “Hell’s Bells,” “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be,” “Thunderstruck” and “Shoot to Thrill.”
