Legendary Swedish melodic death metal band DARK TRANQUILLITY will release their 11th full-length studio album, Atoma, Nov. 4 via Century Media Records.

The band says in a statement, “That’s right! We’re more than halfway done with the recording of the upcoming album, and it’s shaping up to be a diverse and challenging affair that will feature a lot of different aspects of the D.T. sound. It’s hard to be more specific while still immersed in the creative process, but we’re incredibly excited about the material and can’t wait to share the results with all of you soon.”

The album is being recorded in Gothenburg, Sweden, at keyboardist Martin Brandstrom’s Rogue Music studio.

David Castillo (Katatonia, Opeth) will mix the album, with guitarist Niklas Sundin creating the album’s cover art. It will be the first DARK TRANQUILLITY  album without founding guitarist Martin Henriksson, who exited the band earlier this year.

DARK TRANQUILLITY have some European summer festival dates planned, and will kick off a North American headlining tour on the day of Atoma‘s release.

Opening bands on the trek include Swallow the Sun, Enforcer and Starkill.
