EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike Williams underwent surgery hours ago to receive a new liver. Williams has been hospitalized since October, when he was diagnosed with liver failure, among other ailments. His spouse, Michelle, published this update overnight:

"This morning we got the call we'd been waiting for...They found a donor match for Michael!!! After waiting all day to hear something, they just took him down to prep for the transplant! They should start the actual surgery in about an hour. I'll keep you posted on his progress. Please send good thoughts our way."

Subsequently, Michelle shared the following:

"Surgeon just came out to talk to me - it's over! Everything went well. New liver is functioning and making bile. They're taking him to ICU now and I can see him in about an hour."
