According to a posting on the Sony BMG Norway website, the anticipated European release date of VELVET REVOLVER's new album, "Libertad", is May 14.

The group is recording with producer Brendan O'Brien, who's worked with Audioslave, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots. An initial stint with producer Rick Rubin did not work out.

Meanwhile, vocalist Scott Weiland is working on his second solo album, which he said will surface sometime in 2008 on his own label, Softdrive Records.
