Down have been writing material for their third full-length album, "Down III". Рўhe follow-up effort to their 2002 release "Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow" is going to be produced by Warren Riker (Crowbar, Sublime), and shall consist of 18 tracks treating topics like the devastations caused by hurricane Katrina, the death of former Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell (who was shot in 2004 while performing with his band Damageplan in Columbus, Ohio), etc.

Down's current line-up features vocalist Phil Anselmo (ex-Pantera, Superjoint Ritual), guitar players Pepper Keenan (ex-Corrosion of Conformity) and Kirk Windstein (ex-Crowbar), bassist Rex Brown (ex-Pantera) and drummer Jimmy Bower (ex-Corrosion of Conformity).
