Twelve-year-old TYE TRUJILLO took his spot onstage alongside Jonathan Davis, guitarists Head and Munky and drummer Ray Luzier as he filled in for longtime bassist Fieldy during Korn’s performance at the Gran Carpa de las Americas in Bogota, Colombia on Monday night (April 17).

If the last name sounds familiar, that’s because young Tye is the son of METALLICA‘s bass great Robert Trujillo. A talent in his own right, Tye has been garnering attention with his band THE HELMETS and has agreed to fill in for Fieldy during the band’s South American dates.

We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye,” stated the band when recently making the announcement. “We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.”

Trujillo will continue to play with KORN through the remainder of their South American trek that includes dates in Sao Paulo, Curitiba and Porto Alegre, Brazil, as well as Paternal, Argentina and Santiago, Chile. Fieldy is expected to resume playing with KORN on May 6 when the band headlines the May 6 date of Carolina Rebellion.
