The life of the late John Graham Mellor (August 21, 1952 – December 22, 2002) a.k.a. Joe Strummer, rhythm guitarist and lead singer of British punk rockers The Clash, is to be celebrated with the release of a soundtrack on April 3, 2007.

The CD, entitled "The Future Is Unwritten", features some of Strummer’s greatest works as a solo artist and with The Clash, including a previously unreleased live version of "I'm So Bored with the USA", plus a number of tracks by other artists like Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Bob Dylan and Nina Simone, a. o., and accompanies the release of the film of the same title.

Directed by Julien Temple, "The Future Is Unwritten" choreographs Strummer’s life before, during and after The Clash, up until his death 4 years ago due to a heart defect. The movie already received rave reviews at the recent Sundance Film Festival.
