We’ve all scoffed at certain beers because they “taste like piss,” but this brewery is the first to purposely harness our golden streams. For some ungodly reason, Danish brewery Nerrebro Bryghus collected 50,000 liters of human urine from the Roskilde Festival and used it to brew their signature Pisner beer.

Roskilde is the largest music festival in Northern Europe, welcoming 100,000 fans to the multi-genre gathering. The geniuses at Nerrebro Bryghus looked at the mass of humanity and realized they had a unique opportunity on their hands… to score oceans and oceans of pee! But what to do with all the urine? Nerrebro Bryghus brought it to their fields of malting barley, using the piss to fertilize their crops.

This means the Pisner beer doesn’t actually contain pee pee, but Nerrebro Bryghus hopes Pisner will catch on as “the ultimate sustainable hipster beer” by using the technique of “beercycling.” “If it had tasted even a bit like urine, I would put it down, but you don’t even notice,” enthuses Anders Sjögren, who attended Roskilde in 2015.

A total of 60,000 bottles of Pisner will be sold across Denmark, meaning it takes about a liter of tinkle to make a Pisner beer. As for the taste, Pisner is said to be light and refreshing.

FOO FIGHTERS are headlining this year’s Roskilde Festival, so if you spot Nerrebro Bryghus’ pee-cycling area, feel free to donate your salty stream to the cause of beer!
