LED ZEPPELIN has announced that they'll celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2018 in a big way - by releasing an illustrated book with Reel Art Press, which could be of the "surprises" about which Jimmy Page was recently hinting. The book includes input from all three surviving members of the band.

The band announced the news on their website and in social media posts yesterday. “Led Zeppelin is pleased to announce that Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones are collaborating with Reel Art Press to publish the official illustrated book celebrating 50 years since the formation of the group," they wrote, capped off with only a vague "Coming in 2018." The band directed fans to the Reel Art Press website to look for updates as they happen.

It comes following the release of a 50-minute video for the Academy of Achievement, in which Page says, "There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard, because I’m working on that. Next year will be the 50th year, so there’s all manner of surprises coming out.”

In 2015, Page finished work remastering each of the band's studio albums, which were reissued alongside bonus discs that included previously unreleased recordings. Fans also got ahold of The Complete BBC Sessions last year. At the time, Page noted most of the band's outtakes had been released, though some remained.

The band last reunited in 2007, although another reunion is unlikely. Page, along with Robert Plant and John Paul Jones have all been busy with a variety of other projects in the ensuing years.
