Slipknot are to start work on a new album before the end of the year. The songwriting process shall start immediately after the Iowa band membrs finish their touring with their side-projects (Corey Taylor and James Root with Stone Sour, Sid Wilson as DJ Starscream, Joey Jordison with Ministry, Paul Gray with Reggie & The Full Effect, Shawn Crahan with To My Surprise).

The follow-up to "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)" won't appear before 2008.
