Oscar-winning film director Martin Scorsese has been signed up to make a biopic of late The Beatles guitarist George Harrison. Production for the film is set to begin before the end of the year. Harrison's widow Olivia will aid during the making.

The two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, may appear in the film, which will cover both Harrison's time in the Beatles and his solo career.
