Tom Petty has finished recording an album with his original band Mudcrutch, which he fronted in the early 70's before forming The Heartbreakers. The group consists of guitarists Tom Leadon and Mike Campbell, drummer Randall Marsh, and future Heartbreakers' keyboardist Benmont Tench.

Although Mudcrutch had gained a solid fanbase in their home state of Florida, they broke up after moving to California before they could put out a full-length LP. Now they have completed the album they never had the chance to release.
