Paul McCartney has announced that he is to headline a special free show dubbed The Independence Concert at the Independence Square in Ukraine's capital Kiev on June 14. The show, with a capacity for hundreds of thousands of fans, will also be broadcast live on the Ukranian TV channel Novy TV.

Coinciding with performing at the concert, Sir Paul will also open the first exhibition of 40 of his paintings at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev, which is the largest gallery in Eastern Europe.
