The Cure decided to hold its next album down to a single disc worth of material. Although the band's upcoming 13th studio effort, due out on September 13, was originally tipped to be a double CD, frontman Robert Smith changed plans: "I just feel on reflection that making the new album a single will be somehow better, more coherent, more in tune with the band as it it."
