The 2008 edition of Serbia's Castle Festival, which was slated to take place July 1-5 at the Smederevo Fortress, has been cancelled. According to a posting on Helloween's website, this is due to "the political situation and local incidents in the country".

Except for "the pumpkins", other bands that were scheduled to perform at the event were Judas Priest, Cavalera Conspiracy, Morbid Angel, Avantasia, Cradle of Filth, At the Gates, Gorgoroth, Lordi, Nuclear Assault, Sodom, Amon Amarth, Brutal Truth, Dismember, Evergrey, Soilwork, Symphony X, The 69 Eyes, Ensiferum, Tyr and many more.
