David Gilmour Releases "Live in Gdansk"
20 June 2008David Gilmour will release a three disc live collection (2 CDs and 1 DVD) on September 15. Entitled "Live in Gdansk", the effort documents his landmark gig in the Gdansk Shipyards, including the first ever performance of Pink Floyd's classics "High Hopes" and "A Great Day for Freedom" with an orchestra.
Except for this memorable 113-minute show, which took place in 2006 in front of 50,000 people featuring Gilmour, his band and the 40-piece Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, the DVD contains also a documentary of the singer’s private meeting with former Polish president Lech Walensa, chats with the band and crew, and rehearsals.
