Reunited technical progressive metal legends Cynic are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album, due to be released later this year via Season of Mist. The follow-up to "Focus" (1993) was recording in a line-up featuring founding members Paul Masvidal (guitar, clean vocals) and Sean Reinert (drums), Sean Malone (bass), and newcomer Tymon Kruidenier (guitar and growls). The four are currently doing the final stages of mixing with producer Warren Riker.

In addition, Cynic have announced a dozen of live dates in Europe in July and August, as well as a headlining set at this year's ProgPower Europe festival on October 4 in Baarlo, The Netherlands.
