The mighty Brazilians were supposed to play at a New Year’s Eve festival in Turkey but obviously it didn’t happen. According to the band’s official website:

‘Sepultura was contacted by a man called Hakan Dinc, who supposely runs a company called Mix Media A.S. and claims to be ex-Witness guitarist as well as playing in a band called Daydream Enemy.

Hakan Dinc contacted us about having Sepultura in the new year's festival, which got us really excited, so we did the contract, which was signed by Mr Dinc and sent to us. Unfortunately that's the only thing that Mr. Dinc sent us. He never sent us any payment or any airline tickets, which makes it impossible for us to go all the way from Brazil to Turkey. Also, Mr. Dinc used Sepultura's name in a web-flyer of the festival without our authorization.

We have spoken to other bands who were supposed to be in this same bill and they had the same problems we had.

In the meantime, Sepultura is about to release a new album, "A-Lex", on January 23rd, and will follow it with an European tour starting in Bulgaria on February 6th. We're looking forward to land in Turkey once again in 2009 and hope to see you all there, but in a real event, not something that doesn't even exist.’

A month before the SEPULTURA show in Sofia, Bulgaria you can read the Tangra review of ‘A-Lex’ here.
