RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist talks about his next solo album
12 January 2009John Frusciante has spoken about his next solo album - which he's been working on with bandmate Flea and fellow guitar hero Johnny Marr.
And the star has also revealed his band are not planning on recording new material together soon.
Frusciante spokeВ about his tenth solo LP - 'The Empyrean' - which is due out on January 26.
'The drive to create music that is pure is my highest priority', Frusciante said.
'Sometimes I'll get extremely technical in my approach, and other times I'll just kind of go with the gods of music.'
He added: 'I think an artist has to answer to whatever spirits are guiding him. Even if they're in conflict, that's OK.'
When asked if Red Hot Chili Peppers were set to record together soon he was less talkative, saying they had 'no plans'. The band's last release was the 2006 double album 'Stadium Arcadium'.
