After laying low for a while following the implosion of Grandaddy, front man Jason Lytle is ready to return to action as a solo artist.

Lytle drops his first solo effort, 'Yours Truly', the Commuter, from Anti Records May 19. The effort is tipped to combine acoustic guitars, pianos and electronic flourishes, which makes it sound a lot like a new Grandaddy album.

Lytle put the breaks on Grandaddy in 2006. He hasn't released anything outside of casual collaborations with M. Ward since 2006's 'Just Like the Fambly Cat'.
