This will be the Skasters' second gig in Bulgaria after their euphoric show at Tangra Mega Rock's first birthday bash in 2007, when 3000 people belted out in full voice the band's massive hit Flowers From Amsterdam.
Mark Foggo’s Skasters еare one of the most renowned ska bands in the world. Their music is a mix of high-energy ska and joyous happy vibes. It's a magic mix of guitar, bass, drums, sax and trombone and their live shows are something to behold. The onstage show is amazing, the beats are captivating and they have the crowd in a frenzy every single time! The Skasters have played over a 1000 gigs in Europe alone. Their first gig in Sofia, in 2007, sold out with over 3200 ska maniacs filling up the venue to bursting point. Quite a few were left outside cursing their bad luck...
"Classic! A cornerstone in the genre! - MTV
It was in early 1999 that radio Tangra began regularly playing a song called "Meanwhile me and Bobby are drinking coffee" by a new band called Wickeda. A few months later the song became a national hit single, while the accompanying album sold over 30 000 copies - a pretty impressive figure by Bulgarian standards. !Ten years on andВ Wickeda have a solid portfolio of five albums and numerous appearances at various European festivals like Sziget (Hungary), Taksirat (Macedonia), Rockxplosion and StadtFestival (Germany) and Eurosonic (Netherlands). They've also supported the legendary Manu Chao. Their music is a healthy mixture of ska, punk, reggae and funk.
La Muchedumbre starts first rehearsals in the summer of 2005. After some line up changes the band gets finally to the point and becomes what it is now, and that is a six-member ska-punk band with a two-member brass section, memorable vocals of the irreplaceable Chef Da Machine and fresh and positive sound. In their concert history they have performances with bands like The Toasters, Go Jimmy Go, Bibi Ribozo and The Banditos, Ska Non Tropo etc. And now it's time for the gig with MARK FOGGO’S SKASTERS.
