Is It All Over For Queen + Paul Rodgers?

It appears that singer Paul Rodgers has amicably parted ways with Queen. At least, that’s the way it’s been reported on Brian May’s official website.

Strangely, May’s website merely reprints a recent Rodgers interview with VH1 Classic Radio, during which he made reference to the future of Q+PR.

May himself doesn’t made any personal comments on the veracity, or otherwise, of the story. Which seems kinda strange.
Rodgers said: “We [Q+PR] did a world tour, we did a second tour of Europe and the Far East and Eastern Europe and a studio album [The Cosmos Rocks] and I think we’re kind of leaving it there gently.”
He added: “It’s out there for us to do things in the future if there’s something, [for instance] a huge charity say like Nelson Mandela, but I think we are pretty much done.”
QP+R’s latest release is a CD/DVD, titled Queen + Paul Rodgers Live In Ukraine, which hits the racks on June 15.
Rodgers has yet to make a formal announcement regarding his long-term plans, although his publicist is playing the rumour down, saying that QP+R are just not touring right now.
Instead, Rodgers undertakes a 10-date tour of the US with Bad Company – featuring original guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke – in June and July.
