Vienna street named after FALCO
13 May 2009Late Austrian pop star Falco will be honoured with his own street name in his native Vienna next month.
The 'Rock Me Amadeus' singer, real name Johann Hoelzel, was only 40 years old when he died in a car crash in the Dominican Republic in 1998.
He was one of the few Austrian artists to find success on the international music charts - his 1986 song and others, including 'Vienna Calling' and 'Jeanny', were hits around the globe.
Falcogasse (Falco Lane), will be inaugurated on June 5 near where the singer's mother once live in Donaustadt - an outer district of the Austrian capital.
