KORN Star Retires From Music
08 July 2009Korn's Munky Shaffer has told of the band's pain and disbelief after drummer David Silvera left the band, sold his instruments and decided never to perform again. But he's not sure if Silvera's drug problems are entirely to blame.
Munky tells BigMusicGeek: "Three weeks ago I found out David had sold all his drums and never wants to play again. I was blown away. I'm over him not wanting to play with us – but he doesn't want to ever play the drums again? I told everyone in the band and they were like, 'wow'.
When asked if he thinks Silvera's addictions are at the root of the problem, Munky says: "I don't know with David. I really feel his heart wasn't into it and that may be why he was doing a lot of drugs. But then again, I'm into it and I did a lot of drugs."
