Download Organiser On 2010: “I’ll talk to Van Halen, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Metallica”
13 July 2009Download organiser Andy Copping has told Metal Hammer that while it’s still early days for next year’s festival he’d “be a fool not to expand of the Classic Rock stage” idea.
The charismatic organiser - always spottable by his cowboy hat - has said that while he hasn’t yet spoken to any bands about Download Festival 2010 he was very happy with the success of the Classic Rock Stage on the Sunday and would be an idiot not to embrace the theme for next year.
He also said that he was skeptical about whether bands such as AC/DC, Van Halen and Aerosmith would play Download Festival 2010, he would aim to talk to all of them.
He added that he wasn’t worried by any other festivals entering the summer metal festival market - especially after the success of 2009.
