Legendary drummer Vinny Appice (HEAVEN AND HELL)В was due to have surgery on his right shoulder on Monday, November 30th for an injury sustained during the last Heaven And Hell tour. Appice comment: "You can't face the audience and hit drums directly behind you night after night at an extreme volume," referring to his monstrous drums kit that surrounded Vinny with drums. The surgeon expects Appice to be back on the drums in about five months.

The future Heaven And Hell continues to be up in the air with singer Ronnie James Dio diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer and guitarist Tony Iommi undergoing stem cell treatment on an injured hand.

Ronnie James Dio's wife/manager Wendy Dio assures everyone that "after he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans."
