OMC man dies
02 February 2010The Otara Millionaires Club, best known as OMC were the Kiwi act responsible for one of New Zealand's highest selling singles.
InВ 1996 'How Bizarre' made it to Number One in eight different countries, topping the RIANZ chart at home as well as the U.S. Billboard Top 40 Mainstream chart.
OMC comprised Pauly Fuemana and Alan Jansson; unfortunately, their success was limited and Pauly, the duo's frontman, was declared bankrupt in 2006, 10 years after the release of the smash hit.
On Sunday morning, and just prior to his 41st birthday, Paul Fuemana passed away. Reports suggest the singer succumbed to a relatively short illness. He died surrounded by family and friends in North Shore Hospital, Auckland.
