Edwyn Collins is set to return with his first song release since suffering from a stroke in 2005.

The former Orange Juice indie legend has written ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’, which he sings on the forthcoming collaborative ‘MAVIS’ album, which has been inspired by soul singer Mavis Staples and produced by Ashley Beedle and Darren Moore.

The album – which is released on February 22 – also features Candi Staton, Sarah Cracknell and Cerys Matthews.

Collins’ 19 year-old son William plays the lead guitar solo on ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’.

Ryan Jarman of The Cribs and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols have also been helping out Collins with new material for inclusion on his forthcoming new solo album.
