We now know the outcome of TMR’s 'Hottest Bulgarian band' contest!

The latter went on for almost a month and consisted of two phases. Based on fan votes ten bands went through to the second stage, where voting was restricted to TMR registered forum members only. The second stage of voting concluded today at 10 a.m.

Breakpoint grabbed 33% of the votes, with Booze Brothers a coming a close second (30%), followed by Default (17%) and Sickflag (14%).

This means that Breakpoint will be the opening band at 'Universiada Hall' on 24 March, supporting Odd Crew, Insmouth and Er Maluk!

BREAKPOINT were formed in October 2007. The band boast the talents of promising young guitarist Dido Peshev, who caught the eye of some of Bulgaria’s leading six-string luminaries back in 2008, when his band took part in the Jack Daniel’s Battle of the Bands!

The rest of Breakpoint are: Stoimen Stoimenov (enigmatic vocalist and frontman), Plamen Ivanov (ex-convict, bass player) and Lubomir Tomov (pre-op tranny, drummer extraordinaire)

The band cite Chevelle, Deftones, Karnivool, Sevendust, Dark New Day, Tool and Amplifier among their influences. See if you agree on 24 March, as they kick off events at 'Universiada Hall'.
