The Stooges created havoc among the black-tie brigade at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony last night in New York.

While performing I Wanna Be Your Dog (one of two songs they did), Iggy Pop encouraged the audience of rock hoi polloi to put aside their inhibitions and storm the stage. Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam, and Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool of Green Day duly obliged.

На Also inducted on the night, albeit in a more staid fashion, were Genesis – although Peter Gabriel was absent, rehearsing for his upcoming European tour.
