WOLFMOTHER in new lineup change
26 April 2010Wolfmother drummer Dave Atkins has left the band after 16 months, having decided the touring life is not for him. He's been replaced by Har Mar Superstar sticksman Will Rockwell-Scott.
The band are at pains to underline that Atkins' departure is in no way unfriendly, like the split which saw founding members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett quit in 2008, citing "irreconcilable personal differences" with frontman Andrew Stockdale.
Left alone, Stockdale spent four months considering the situation before forming a new Wolfmother lineup in January 2009 with Atkins, bassist Ian Peres, and rhythm guitarist Aidan Nemeth.
The band are continuing their world tour in support of last year's Cosmic Egg album and will play in Europe, the US and Australia in the coming months. They appear on the main stage at this year's Download festival on June 11.
