British dance star Paul Oakenfold has recruited a host of big name artists for his next solo album 'Pop Killer,' including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls Barkley vocalist Cee-Lo and One Republic's Ryan Tedder.

"I've got some really good people on it," Oakenfold tells Billboard.biz from his Los Angeles base, adding that the record is nearing completion and that he is eying a summer 2010 release date for the "very melodic, up-tempo and song driven" studio set.

According to Oakenfold, Tedder has written and sung a track for the album while Red Hot Chili Peppers has reworked an existing song from their catalog.

"They're doing an old song of theirs, which I took and [have] re-done and it's looking real good," the London-born artist tells Billboard.biz, although he declined to reveal the name of the track.

There is likely to be at least one "other big name" on the album.
"I think people will be shocked with who I've got," he says. "I haven't signed the contract yet, but I think people will be very interested in what they hear."
