Gogol Bordello, Primus Touring Together
04 May 2010Gogol Bordello and Primus both have infectious, absolutely insane frontmen in Eugene Hutz and Les Claypool, and both bands combine very different musical genres. So we guess it was only a matter of time before the two acts toured together.
They'll do that in August after Gogol Bordello return from a European club and festival tour, which they're on from May to July.
The joint headlining North American tour will be the first time Primus have been on the road in four years. The tour will feature Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Jay Lane. Primus haven't released a studio album since 1999's Antipop.
The band split in 2000 but Claypool reunited them (with Tim Alexander on drums) to record an EP/DVD, Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, in 2003. They've since performed at major festivals like Lollapalooza, released live recordings on their website and put out a greatest hits compilation and DVD of live footage.
Gogol Bordello's fifth studio album, Transcontinental Hustle, came out last Tuesday (April 27).
