Aerosmith might not go into the studio to record a new album until early next year.

Talking to rollingstone.com, guitarist Joe Perry said: “Looking at the calendar we’ll probably be going into the studio sometime around the holidays or maybe in the beginning of next year. We’ll have to take time off from touring to make the best record we can make. We owe it to ourselves to make the best record we can make”.

Aerosmith are to headline the last night of the Download Festival on June 13.
