Daniel Lanois In Motorcycle Accident
09 June 2010Daniel Lanois was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Saturday (June 5) in Los Angeles, and will take the next two months off to recover from his injuries.
Lanois is currently in an intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital after having suffered multiple injuries in the crash. While a press release states his injuries are "severe," it also stresses he should be released from hospital soon.
With that said, Lanois has cancelled all of his upcoming tour dates and other activities to give himself time to recuperate. That means all Lanois' dates with his new Black Dub project have been nixed.
Black Dub were scheduled to tour Europe this July.
Lanois had been working on a debut album with the band, which also includes singer/songwriter Trixie Whitley and jazz drummer Brian Blade. According to the press release, it will be released "when circumstances permit."
In addition to releasing his own albums, Lanois has become a celebrated producer of albums by the likes of U2 and Bob Dylan.
