KISS to Record Paul McCartney Song
13 August 2010KISS founder Gene Simmons recently told Weekender.com that his band will be recording 'Venus and Mars/Rockshow' for an upcoming Paul McCartney tribute album.
The Wings single (from the Venus and Mars album) was a Top 20 hit in the U.S. when it was released in 1975. The single was actually made up of the album’s first two songs.
On his Up and Coming 2010 Tour, McCartney has been opening every show with 'Venus and Mars/Rockshow.' The lyrics of “Rockshow” mention some famous rock and roll venues – such as Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. The song also name checks Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
There’s no word yet on when the album will be released or which other bands might be contributing.
