LEMMY KILMISTER Joins Ramones Tribute
09 September 2010Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister is set to join a benefit concert organized by Ramones drummer Marky Ramone.
The bassist/singer, who wrote the punk rock tribute 'R.A.M.O.N.E.S.,' will join Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big), Michael Graves (the Misfits), Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint), Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult) and Marky himself at a fundraiser for the Marky Ramone Drum Scholarship for Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California.
“I am much honored to be chosen as an artist for the scholarship program,” Marky said in a statement. “Music for kids is very important to have.”
The concert will take place on October 8 at the Musicians Institute Concert Hall. All proceeds will go toward the drum scholarship.
Marky has picked out a setlist of only Ramones classics, including “I Wanna Be Sedated,” “The KKK Took My Baby Away” and “Pinhead.” Although the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was not a founding member of The Ramones, he was part of their longest-lasting lineup after joining Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee in 1978.
