FAITH NO MORE confirm end of reunion
14 September 2010Faith No More will go their separate ways after ending their reunion tour in Chile on December 5, the band have confirmed.
The alt rockers reunited for a spectacular show at the Download festival last year and have been touring a best-of plus covers set ever since. Now they’ve confirmed the appearance in Santiago, in a nation where they’ve received massive acclaim, will be the final show they perform.
And keyboardist Roddy Bottum reveals he wanted to write new music at an early stage of the reunion, but the band decided against it.
He tells Terra.cl: “In my opinion recording an album was a great idea. The balance was good because we know each other well. But things were complicated – it was very strange to return after a decade.
“When we decided to get together, it was to reconnect and relive something we had in common. It was very important to us – but doing these shows was the only thing we were going to do.
“The craziest thing was when we met for the first time, all in a room after not seeing each other for so long. When we started I thought we would only see older people at the shows, but it was mostly young people and that was very surprising. We’ve visited many wonderful places and it’s all been good.”

TheirВ decision to end their career in Santiago, with plans for a live DVD to be recorded at the show, comes after they received megastar-level attention from fans in Chile.
Bottum says: “Hundreds of people were waiting at the airport to welcome us. We thought, вЂWow, is this for real?’ It was amazing – those two shows were very special. So we think going back is a nice way to close the tour.”
He categorically states there are no plans for Faith No More to continue working together after that concert. He’ll return to work with his band Imperial Teen and his colleagues will go back to their own projects.
