Goth legend David J, known as bass player for Bauhaus and Love & Rockets, has written a musical play based on the life of Edie Sedgwick (1943-1971) – the American actress who starred in many of Andy Warhol’s short films in the 60’s. Entitled “Silver for Gold”, the play will run at the Met Theatre in Hollywood on March 6-16 and features an original musical score written and performed live by David J and a four-piece band.
As for the plot, the author explains: “Edie is seen as Persephone and it chronicles her journey into the underworld, which is New York. Warhol is there as Hades and Bob Dylan is Orpheus…”
