Andy Warhol‘s 1975 portrait of Mick Jagger (shown in the left) sold for $46,800 at a Sydney auction. The screen-print painting, signed by both Warhol and Jagger, had been originally commissioned by Jagger and was expected to only fetch up to $35,000.
Warhol has previously designed The Rolling Stones’ cover for 1971’s “Sticky Fingers” and 1977’s live album “Love You Live”.
