British group Asia was forced to postpone its tour this week after finding out that singer John Wetton has been diagnosed with advanced heart disease. Wetton will either have to take medication or undergo open heart surgery, but he’s expected to make a full recovery, according to a release. The reunited band’s North American tour will be rescheduled for early 2008.
Wetton discovered that he had heart disease after doing a comprehensive medical examination.
The group currently includes al its original members: bassist/vocalist John Wetton, drummer Carl Palmer, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and guitarist Steve Howe.
