No release date has been announced for the follow-up to 2004’s “Tyrannosaurus Hives,” which has sold 178,000 copies in the United States.
“This new album has been recorded all over the world because we thought it was time to have other people involved besides ourselves and our closest friends,” frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almvquist says.
The Hives have also worked with Pharrell Williams in Miami, Jacknife Lee in London and in Sweden with Bob Hund member Tomas Oberg.
The Hives will join Maroon 5 as the support act for the latter’s fall North American tour, which begins Sept. 29 in Auburn Hills, Mich.
