IAN BROWN Prepares Fifth Solo Effort

Singer Ian Brown (ex-The Stone Roses) announced that his fifth solo album will be ready for release this autumn.

The effort, bearing the working title “The World Is Yours”, is being recorded with the help of Ian’s fellow Mancunian musicians, a.o. bass players Andy Rourke (Freebass, ex-The Smiths) and Paul Ryder (ex-Happy Mondays).

Regarding the substance of the follow-up to “Solarized” (2004), Brown said that “it’s going to be something really beautiful, with violins, dead sharp beats, socially conscious lyrics – this time around, I’m trying to bury everything I’ve ever done.”

The album’s release shall be celebrated by a 22-date UK tour, starting on September 27.
