Beastie Boys have revealed to New Musical Express that their new album will be called “The Mix Up” and will be released in June.
Mike D has stated that the follow-up to 2004’s “To the 5 Boroughs” will be “radically different” from its predecessor and shall sound closer to “Check Your Head” and “Paul’s Boutique”. “We play instruments on the whole album, as opposed to sampling. There’s more rock on there”, Mike D added.
Beastie Boys will present stuff from “The Mix Up” on July 7, when the trio is going to perform at the Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium alongside Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snow Patrol.
