KORN performed with The Cure and Evanescence, announce drummer’s departure

Korn recently recorded a performance for MTV Unplugged at the US music channel’s studios in Times Square, New York City.

The Cure and Evanescence’s singer Amy Lee joined the band for a few numbers.

Previously, Korn had only recorded five songs acoustically, but last weekend played several of their hits unplugged on MTV for an episode that will air in early 2007.

Korn have also announced that their drummer, David Silveria, will be “taking a temporary hiatus” from the band. “I just need a break right now,” says Silveria.

In the meantime, the rest of the band will continue recording their new album, slated for a June release, and plan to tour the US next summer.
