RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS win awards, go on tour

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS won several awards at the American Music Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles last night.

The band took the awards for best alternative and best rock-pop band, while the Canadians Nickelback took the award for best rock-pop album.

Meanwhile, the Billboard reported that the Peppers and Queens of the Stone Age played free concerts for the launch of Zune – Microsoft’s MP3 player.

Besides that Peppers announced their US tour dates this winter. So far there are 17 confirmed shows with several more expected to be announced. Supporting band will be Gnarls Barkley.
