SICK OF IT ALL frontman Lou Koller has shared the unfortunate news that his cancer has returned, after reporting earlier this year that he was cancer-free.
The New York hardcore legend was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer in June 2024 after a tumor was found in his esophagus, leading the band to suspend all activities. The singer happily revealed in May of this year that, after completing chemotherapy treatments, the cancer was gone.
Sadly, he posted a new video message on Tuesday, stating the following:
“Hey, everybody, what’s up? It’s Lou here. I don’t know if you can tell it’s me with my new skeletal look that I have going on. Here’s an update for you: it’s not one I want to make, but unfortunately the cancer has come back, and he’s brought some friends with him. I was having a really hard time with my recovery. I was having a tough time gaining weight and keeping food down, so I had some scans done and sure enough, he’s back. But we’re gonna take it day by day and see what happens. I want to thank you all again for your moral support. The way you all reach out to me is still… thank you very much. But I’ll keep you updated and let you know how it goes. All right? See you soon.”
A written message accompanying the video reads, “So bad news is the cancer has returned. So it’s back to square one and start the treatments again. I’ll try to keep you updated as much as possible. Thank you for your love and support.”
A GoFundMe campaign that was set up upon Koller’s original diagnosis has raised more than $330,000 and is still active. Among the top donors, contributing $5,000 each, are Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, and AFI.
Here’s hoping that Lou Koller can beat cancer again.
